Last weekend, Colin and I helped Noah move from his apartment complex in Silverdale to an ex-Firehouse in Bremerton. The building is on a hill on a kind of a peninsula and has almost 180 degree views of water, including the shipyard where his submarine will be stationed.

No, he doesn’t have a firepole that he can ride directly from his room to the 2nd-level down on the submarine. In fact, he doesn’t have a firepole at all. I stole that picture from the internet. If you ask me, it’s a crying shame.
A fire pole really might be something subs should consider. I can attest that getting down a submarine escape hatch on a ladder is not the easiest thing.
Anyway, the building and the apartment are really unusual and interesting, and the neighborhood is residential, peaceful, and pretty. Also, Noah should be able to walk to the ferry from his house!
